Dire Straits

Dire Straits

This is their debut album.... are you kidding me? What a way to introduce yourselves to the world. Their first and in my opinion also their best album. Starts out so strong with Down to the Waterline. Water of Love is also great. I remember being really into those first two tracks when I was growing up and I played them on repeat on a family vacation at Lake Shasta. Good memories and great music! The rest of the first side of the album is solid. Then, side two is immense. Sultans of Swing is obviously what made the band their name, but it should NOT overshadow the rest of side 2. In the Gallery, Wild West End, and maybe my personal favorite Lions are all fantastic. Such a solid album. These guys are awesome.
