Accessibility
Accessibility statement
We want Spin Diary to work for everyone, whether you use a phone, a keyboard, a screen reader or zoom. We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. The site hasn’t been audited against them, and we don’t claim it meets them in full. This page says what we’ve done and what we know still falls short.
What we’ve done
- Checked at 11 screen sizes. On 9 October 2026 every page, signed in and signed out, was loaded at phone, tablet and desktop sizes from 360 to 1920 pixels wide, with touch on for phones and tablets, in Chromium and in WebKit (the engine behind Safari). We fixed the pages that scrolled sideways, such as reviews with long links.
- Big enough to tap. On touch screens, buttons and other controls are at least 44 by 44 pixels. The same pass measured them and raised the ones that were smaller.
- Keyboard. Whatever you reach with Tab is marked with an outline or a change of colour, there’s a “Skip to content” link, and the profile page builder’s drag and drop also works with buttons and the keyboard. Press ? for keyboard shortcuts.
- Less motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site’s animations, including the ones people add to their profiles, are switched off. Animated text keeps the real words for screen readers.
- Charts have words too. The charts on stats pages come with a data table for screen readers, or the same numbers as text.
- No zooming in on forms. Text fields use 16-pixel text or larger, so phones don’t zoom in when you tap one.
- An automated check. In September 2026 we ran the axe-core checker and fixed what it found (heading order and table headers).
Known limitations
- Some text links are smaller than 44 pixels tall on touch screens: album and artist names in lists and cards, names on replies and guestbook scratches, chart links, and the “Listen on” links on album pages.
- We haven’t yet tested on real iPhones and iPads (only with emulated touch), or with screen readers such as VoiceOver, TalkBack or NVDA.
- Profiles are designed by their owners, who choose the colours, fonts, patterns and motion. Text on a profile’s background and accent colour is switched to black or white, whichever reads better, but an owner can still pick a text and card colour that are hard to read together.
- The page builder at /edit is the most complex screen on the site. If any part of it doesn’t work for you, tell us.
- On phones, the chart filters and profile tabs scroll sideways inside their own row, with the last one cut off at the edge as a cue.
- The site has a dark theme only.
- Share cards are images. The words on them are also on the page they come from.
- Some parts come from other companies and we can’t change them: the 30-second previews (Apple, Deezer), and Apple’s and Spotify’s sign-in screens when you connect them.
Tell us about a problem
If something on Spin Diary is hard or impossible for you to use, email info@masonobegi.com or use the contact form at masonobegi.com/contact. Tell us the page, what happened, and what you use (for example a screen reader, keyboard only, or zoom). We aim to reply promptly, and we’ll try to fix it or get you the information another way.
